Faye Haskins
Rooted in nature and informed by travel, my practice draws upon the landscapes, cultures and experiences encountered along the way. Through the collection of imagery, natural forms and remembered observations, I explore how place shapes our understanding of the world and our connection to it. Encounters with different environments and cultural traditions become intertwined with the plants, textures and patterns gathered from the natural world, forming the foundation of my image-making. Working through processes that that reveal the evolving relationship between light, material and time to create works that reflect on memory, presence and belonging. The resulting images seek to evoke a sense of connection between people, culture and landscape, inviting moments of reflection on our relationship with the environments we inhabit and the journeys that continue to shape us.
