Glass Birds - Rene Lalique
Glass Birds - Rene Lalique
Artist:
René Lalique (1860–1945) was a visionary French artist and designer, a key figure in Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Trained as a jeweler and artist, he transformed decorative arts by elevating glass to fine art.
Initially celebrated for jewelry that emphasized form, nature, and sensuality over gemstones, Lalique drew inspiration from flora, fauna, the female form, and mythology. By the early 20th century, he focused on glass, pioneering techniques like molded and satin-finished glass to create vases, perfume bottles, lighting, and architectural pieces.
Lalique’s work remains timeless, embodying elegance, innovation, and the harmony of nature and craftsmanship.
